Samsung Display said today that it will be presenting a range of advanced OLED technologies at CES 2025, including large-format foldable displays, flexible rollable displays, automotive displays, and next-generation QD-OLED panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world’s largest 18.1-inch foldable OLED display<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the event was the 18.1-inch foldable OLED display, which is also the world’s largest foldable display. This panel is designed for information technology devices such as tablets and laptops. When folded, the screen will shrink to 13.1 inches, providing maximum flexibility for users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung will also introduce rollable OLED displays with a variety of designs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Slidable Flex Vertical: The screen expands vertically from 5.1 inches to 6.7 inches, which is suitable for compact smartphone designs.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Slidable Flex Duet: The display can slide open in both directions from 8.1 inches to 12.4 inches, which is ideal for tablet-sized devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Slidable Flex Solo: Expandable from 13 inches to 17.3 inches, targeting applications that require larger display space.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Samsung is pushing the envelope in rollable display technology, and experts predict the first commercial device using a rollable OLED display could appear as early as this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    OLED display technology for cars<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Samsung Display will introduce the first under-display camera (UPC) technology for car screens, making driver monitoring systems more effective. In addition, the company also launched Real Black HUD technology, allowing driving information to be displayed on the windshield with deeper, sharper blacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Real Black HUD uses OLED technology to reduce thickness and weight compared to conventional LED HUDs, while improving display quality, providing a more intuitive and seamless experience for drivers. In addition, Samsung also introduced an 18.1-inch curved OLED display for cars, promising to optimize the display space in the car’s interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    New generation QD-OLED panel with 4,000 nits brightness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Samsung Display’s new QD-OLED panel can reach up to 4,000 nits brightness, an increase of about 30% compared to the previous generation. These panels are aimed at high-end computer monitors and TVs with sizes ranging from 27 inches, 31.5 inches, 34 inches to 49 inches.
