Samsung Electronics has announced that it will introduce a TV model with integrated 3D sound technology Eclipsa Audio co-developed with Google at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, taking place in Las Vegas. This is the first time this sound technology has been launched, marking a breakthrough in the field of home entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eclipsa Audio delivers an immersive sound experience by optimizing factors such as position, sound intensity, and spatial reflection based on IAMF technology. This technology helps create a 3D sound effect, giving the feeling that sound is moving in three-dimensional space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IAMF is the first audio technology standard developed by the Open Media Alliance (AOM). This organization brings together many of the world’s leading technology corporations such as Google, Netflix, and Meta, and provides audio technology as open source, making it easy for manufacturers to apply it to their devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung said that its entire TV lineup from the 2025 Crystal UHD to the Neo QLED 8K will support IAMF technology. In addition, Samsung and Google will provide 3D audio content through a special version of the YouTube app for TVs, providing a richer and more immersive viewing experience for users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung and Google are also collaborating to launch the IAMF audio quality certification program. The two companies will establish testing standards to ensure that devices using Eclipsa Audio technology meet optimal quality. The certification will be carried out with the support of the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA), an independent certification organization with a strong reputation in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe will showcase the next generation of audio technology through our Neo QLED TVs at CES 2025,\u201d said Son Tae-yong, Vice President of Video Display Business at Samsung Electronics. \u201cOur goal is to set a new audio standard for the entire industry with IAMF technology.\u201d Meanwhile, Jim Bankoski, Vice President of Engineering at Google Chrome, also shared: \u201cWe believe that Eclipsa Audio has the potential to change the way people enjoy audio.
