Samsung has just announced a major upgrade to its Care+ extended warranty service, which will be available starting in January 2025. According to the announcement, Galaxy device users will be able to enjoy unlimited free screen repairs, including both the front and back glass. This is a notable improvement, especially for those who frequently encounter problems with their device screens.

Care+ is Samsung’s extended warranty program, similar to Apple Care, providing repair and replacement services for Galaxy phones, tablets, and watches in case of damage or theft. Previously, even when registering for Care+, users still had to pay for screen repairs at a preferential price of $29 per visit. However, with the new upgrade, the “Free Screen Repair” option will be automatically added to the Care+ with Theft & Loss package.

Users can avail of this service at official service centers, via on-site repair, or by mailing in their devices. The offer applies to the front display and rear glass but excludes the foldable display of the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip devices. The free repair is only available with the “Care+ with Theft & Loss” plan, which costs more than the standard Care+ plan. Samsung has sent an email notification to users, explaining the policy further:

Effective January 15, 2025, Samsung and Samsung Care+ with Theft and Loss will introduce a FREE SCREEN REPAIR SERVICE. This coverage will only apply to damage affecting the front display and rear glass. In addition to the Mail-in Repair and On-Site Repair options, Care+ customers will continue to have the option to have their display repaired at a location of their choice.

Care+ customers with eligible plans* will automatically be eligible for this coverage after January 15, 2025.

This announcement comes after Samsung introduced its unlimited battery replacement program in early 2024, which will allow users to replace their batteries for free if their battery capacity drops below 79%. With continuous improvements in after-sales services, Samsung is affirming its efforts to bring maximum value to users. This is certainly good news for those considering upgrading to the Galaxy S25 series, which will be launched next week.
