One of the biggest problems when switching between operating systems is personal data. While Apple and Google have improved the ability to transfer data between the two platforms, the process is still not completely smooth. Google is trying to improve the situation by supporting Live Photos transfer from iPhone to Android phones.
Android Switch is about to support Live Photos transfer from iPhone to Android phones
Google recently launched Android Switch as a separate app for Android phones and tablets. Previously, this app was part of the core Android called Data Transfer Tool and could not be updated independently.
Recently, the Data Transfer Tool has improved the ability to move messages and can use USB and Wi-Fi technology at the same time for faster data transfer.
The ability to transfer Live Photos from an iPhone has also been added. Currently, only the Pixel 9 series is supported. Paul Dunlop, Product Manager for Android Introduction and Transition, confirmed that the feature will be rolling out to other Android phones soon.
Galaxy devices also use the Android Switch app to transfer data from iPhones, so the ability to import live photos will also be available to Galaxy devices in the near future.
