Samsung is set to unveil a new line of advanced refrigerators with “AI Hybrid Cooling Technology” at CES 2025. The device is expected to set a new standard in the refrigeration industry, providing more efficient and precise cooling thanks to the integration of advanced AI algorithms and modern thermal technology.

Combination of Peltier module and traditional compressor
Samsung’s new refrigerator line adopts hybrid cooling technology, combining a traditional compressor and a semiconductor-based Peltier module. This system is designed to flexibly meet different cooling needs. When storing hot food, in large quantities or facing a sudden increase in temperature, the Peltier module will activate, helping to quickly reduce the temperature.

Under normal use conditions, the refrigerator operates on an AI inverter compressor, which optimizes speed and minimizes energy consumption. Compared to the conventional F3 compressor, this new system offers superior energy efficiency and more durable operation.

In addition, the Peltier module not only supports cooling but also plays a role in precise temperature control. The Hybrid Precise Cooling feature minimizes temperature fluctuations during the defrost cycle, keeping food fresher for longer. For example, the freshness of pork and salmon can be extended by 40% and 20%, respectively.

Samsung’s CES prototype has a capacity of up to 900 liters, of which the Peltier module contributes to an additional 25 liters of usable volume. This allows the shelves to be designed deeper, increasing the storage area by 13.8%. The refrigerator can hold more cans of drinks and food, providing optimal convenience for users.

Samsung’s new refrigerator model meets the highest standards for energy efficiency and has been awarded the prestigious Energy Star certification. The product is expected to be mass-produced in 2025 under the code name RM80F23VM*.

The combination of AI cooling technology and Samsung’s hybrid thermal system not only improves cooling capacity but also optimizes food preservation and saves energy. This is a new step in providing smart, environmentally friendly and convenient home appliances for consumers.
