Five years ago, Samsung introduced an AI robot called Ballie to show off how robots could help us with household chores. Last year, the company upgraded the product by adding a projector. However, the product is not yet ready for consumers. Yesterday, Samsung announced that people will be able to buy Ballie later this year.

Samsung will start selling Ballie in the US

At CES 2025, Samsung announced that people in the US will be able to buy Ballie later this year. There is no specific release date yet, but at least we know that it will be available before the end of the year. Samsung did not reveal Ballie’s price or availability in other countries.

Ballie has three wheels to help it roam around the house or follow you. It has a pair of cameras, a projector, speakers, and a microphone. It also has a series of sensors to create a three-dimensional map of your home. Supported wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Ballie runs Tizen OS.

It can listen to voice commands and control smart home devices. Ballie can show you weather forecasts, the information you ask for, and even movies and TV shows on your wall. It can detect when you tap your foot and use that as input to know when you want to know more about something.

Samsung will likely reveal more information about Ballie’s features and capabilities before it goes on sale later this year.
