At CES 2025, Samsung unveiled new TVs in its OLED, Neo QLED, and The Frame lines. The company also announced Vision AI for these products.

Vision AI includes AI features that can give you information about the content you’re watching, such as information about actors, locations, and objects in a scene, recommend content to watch, and more that make viewing and discovering content on your TV easier.

Samsung says that Vision AI — or at least some of its features — is powered by Copilot. It also says it’s working with Google to expand what Vision AI can do. According to a new leak, Samsung is also working with OpenAI, a leader in the generative AI market at the moment.

Some of the features of Vision AI will be powered by OpenAI
More specifically, Samsung is working with OpenAI to leverage its products and provide useful features for Vision AI. Samsung can use OpenAI’s GPT, Dali, Whisper, and o1 to provide features such as personalized content recommendations, chatbots, easier multitasking, real-time language translation, healthcare, and entertainment on TV.

The source claims that if you use Vision AI on a new Samsung TV to find a horror movie similar to the one you watched yesterday, the product will provide you with relevant recommendations.

If you ask a question about the story or actors while watching TV, the TV will provide you with the necessary information. Therefore, you do not need to take out your phone and manually search for information anymore.

The features above sound very interesting and could make watching TV content more enjoyable and immersive than before, helping Samsung products stand out from the competition. Samsung has been the number one brand in the TV market for 19 consecutive years, and with Vision AI, it will further solidify its position in the TV market.
