A few days ago, Samsung unveiled their first XR device called “Project Moohan”, with Moohan meaning “infinite” in Korean. It will be the first device to run Android XR and use the keyword “Hey Gemini”.

Samsung XR could be the first to use the keyword “Hey Gemini”
Gemini is a core component of Google’s new operating system for AR/MR/VR devices and AR glasses called Android XR. The operating system is based on AI, with Gemini being the virtual assistant that comes pre-installed on devices running Android XR.

As the first product to run Android XR, the Samsung XR is also the first to use the “Hey Gemini” keyword for voice commands. Currently, you can summon Google Assistant or Gemini with the “Hey Google” keyword. However, this will soon change.

Google’s prototypes for Samsung’s XR device and Android XR used the “Hey Gemini” keyword to summon the AI virtual assistant. This is not surprising since Google is planning to replace Google Assistant with Gemini.

Even Samsung has unveiled its next-generation AI virtual voice assistant – Bixby – with the Galaxy S25 series next month. The new version of Bixby is now available in China as it was released with the W25 and W25 Flip.

The new generation of Bixby is built on a large language model (LLM). Therefore, it can understand complex voice commands much better. In addition, the ability to understand context has also been improved.
